People often ask me how I start a collection, where I get my ideas, my inspiration. For me, it begins with beauty—the beauty of a place, a book, a time, a memory, even a movie. Many times, it starts with the materials and what they evoke. Every once in a while, I come across something I can't get out of my head. For this collection, it was the Keshi pearls. - they remind me of luminous tiny flower petals. Wearing them is like being surrounded by the delicacy of nature. Divine!
I just finished a colorful fall collection, and I yearned for neutrals - a way to feel grounded. Gaia, the ancient Greek goddess of the earth - became the ideal muse.
The fragility and the power of nature are recurrent themes in my designs. So as I started sourcing new materials, I looked for gemstones and larger pearls that could hold their own against the soft power of the Keshi. Moonstone, a stone for "new beginnings", Black gold Amazonite, smoky Topaz, pearls, and of course my beloved shells, all woven together with feminine energy, strength, and grounded spirituality. A legend reborn.
